oreo truffles

These simple treats are perfect for anyone who likes Oreos (we have a little Oreo fan club in our home). The kids can even help you roll these into balls. I haven't made these in a long time ... it's been a few years ... and just made them for a "girls night in" gathering that I hosted this week. Now I remember why I kept the recipe. Easy and yummy.

OREO TRUFFLES

2 sleeves Oreos
8 oz. softened cream cheese
Handful of white chocolate chips
Handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Crush the Oreos in a food processor (should be like crumbs). Pour into a mixing bowl/mixer. Add in the cream cheese and mix until well blended. Roll into balls. In a separate bowl, melt all the chocolate chips together and drizzle over balls.

Hint: Melt the chips in the microwave, along with a teaspoon of Crisco. Once melted, place them in baggie & cut the corner of the bag (a very small hole) and drizzle over the balls. Even better, use an icing bag if you have one. Store truffles in the fridge.

Yield: About 30 truffles

I love this recipe. I just use the candy chocolate instead of chips but it works the same. I have found that refrigerating the oreo/cream cheese mixture before making into balls helps keep it off my hands while creating the balls. I refrigerate them again right before they go into the chocolate which from the look of the picture, my chocolate covers completely while your's has the drizzle over it and you can see the middle. Either way, they are simply SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!! And yes, so very very easy.

Becky,

The recipe calls for 2 sleeves of oreo's (1 pack of oreo's) I'm confused the oreo's here come in a package with 3 rows of oreo's so is the recipe for an entire pack of oreo's or just 2 of the 3 rows?

Thanks,

Lisa

My recipe uses 1 package.

We adore these. Once I get started making them I have to keep going because my family eats them as quick as they're done.

Thanks for sharing this yummy recipe. I made them for a Halloween party and they were a hit! I used white chocolate chips and added some food coloring to make the chocolate orange so they were festive. I think I will make them red and green for Christmas!

Made these for a party the other night and they were a HUGE hit. I ended up dipping the whole thing in chocolate and then sprinkling some oreo crumbs on top before the chocolate set. YUM!! Making more for another party this weekend.

I also ended up making these for my Holiday candies this year. I dipped them in white chocolate then drizzled dark and red chocolate to give a some what festive look to them. I hope everyone enjoys them as I have had eating the not so perfect ones. ;-)
